The LDR is a special type of resistor that allows higher voltages to pass through it (low resistance) whenever there is a high intensity of light , and passes a low voltage (high resistance) whenever it is dark. We can take advantage of this LDR property and use it in our DIY Arduino LDR sensor project. Arduino – Playing with a light sensitive resistor ( LDR ) After building my own Ambient Light for my TV (Boblight project), several users asked how to control the light intensity of the LEDs based on the ambient light. So the LEDs should be brighter during the day, and more dimm at night. We are going to use a 10k resistor along with the LDR to create a voltage divider circuit.
In this project we are making a Light Sensor using LDR with Arduino to. Then the point between the fixed pulldown resistor and the variable photocell resistor is connected to the anaput of a microcontroller such as an Arduino. In this video I am going to show you how to use a LDR or Light Dependent resistor to turn . Light - dependent resistors (LDRs) are the key to building automated lighting.
